BDL XC, Shipley Park this Sunday and other stuff..

BDL Shipley Park
This Sunday October 20th sees the first race in the BDL Cross-Country League at Shipley Park, the Visitors Centre end. It would be good to see as many runners out as possible to make a good start for the club. Considering the many good times at the first 10k Handicap, this is a good opportunity to test yourself in the first X-country of the season.

We should have the club tent up adjacent to the Visitors Centre at around 10.30 for the start at 11.00am.

Alex Pilcher will be running as a second claim for the club over the X-country season as he builds himself up to full fitness after a long term injury. Alex as I am sure many of you are aware has twice won the Derby 10k and running these races will both benefit Belper Harriers and himself.

If you have a spare running vest it would be invaluable on Sunday morning.

Winter Special
Tuesday October 22nd sees the first of our Winter Specials from the Pattenmakers Arms Duffield, starting at 7.30pm.

Ilkeston Track
This Thursday evening October 24th we are going to the track again. The previous occasion in September saw some ‘hard yards’ put in by our runners.
Come and join us on Thursday evening, meet at 7pm for a 7.15 start. Cost of £1.50.

Conclusion
In 2011 before he joined the club Andy Nash ran the Sheffied Endcliffe Park 10k recording a time 54mins 55secs. This year Andy ran the same tough 10k running it in 48mins 59secs. Good progress Andy who also ran a personal best in the October 10k Handicap.
