As this Sundays Cross-country at Bakewell is a new venue and a little further to travel, any of our members who wish to car-share meet at Belper Leisure car park at 9.20am. For any of our new members who are thinking of running for the first time you will need to wear the club vest. I have a small supply either to buy or borrow which I shall bring along with me.
The third Cross-country in the North Midlands League takes place on Saturday December 6th at Shipley Country Park. Ladies race starts 1.25pm and the men’s at 1.55pm.
January 2015 sees the Derbyshire County Cross-country Championships in conjunction with Nottinghamshires Championships at Wollaton Park Nottingham on Saturday January 3rd. There are separate races for men and women and the closing date for these races is Friday 5th December. A entry form can be found on the Derbyshire Athletic Association website.
The second event at Wollaton Park is the Midlands Cross-country Championships on Saturday January 24th. Once again there are races for ages and gender with the senior ladies running 8k and the men 12k. The Nationals were held there last February with a good number from the Harriers involved and this event should be similar. If you are interested in running, give your name to Rob Pearce as soon as possible, as entries have to come from the club not the individual.
Within the next couple of weeks we should be able to take orders on club clothing. At the moment Peter Kemp is looking at Suppliers and the costs involved. I have three hooded tops with the club’s motif on which if anyone is interested in any good offer will secure. They are brand new but the sizing does not comply with the label. I will bring them down next Tuesday evening or drop me an email if you are interested.
The last track session of 2014 is on Thursday December 4th. We have no dates set yet for 2015 as there are three other clubs wanting to use the facilities on Thursday evenings.
Well done to all our runners who raced last weekend in the various races with good times and personal bests in abundance.
