Calling All Volunteers – Derwent River Relays – July 4th

Hi Everyone ,

Its now just over two weeks until the Harriers Flag ship event of the year , for new members this is a great day out organised by the club down at the Rugby club , Relay teams of 4 tackle a great 5K loop route along the river Derwent  ( as the name would suggest )

This event is the main annual fund raiser for the club but also this year we will be donating money to a great local charity called the Blue Box community project.

But …………. the event cant happen without the support of as many club members / friends / family as possible …….

We need volunteers for Marshalling , setting up in the morning , clearing away after the event and also usually a gardening group to clear the route a little on the either the Thurs night  / Friday afternoon before the big day itself

So please lets get as many folk helping out as possible – please email Geoff Stone at stone@sgeoffrey2.orangehome.co.uk if you can help out in any way , if you cant make the day perhaps you can be there at the end to clear down or help with the route clearing before.

We also be hoping to enter some running teams of course but the priority is to firstly get as many marshalls etc so that the event can run smoothly , I’m sure many of you will be running the Colin Potter race the night before so rest your legs and help the club 🙂

Also just finally as a heads up the club will be wanting to provide at least 6 volunteers to help out with the Rugby Rover on August 16th but I will put out a separate post about that once the River Relays are behind us
