Belper Harriers Meeting November 2015- Notes and Important Updates

Hi All
Please find attached my notes from the club Extraordinary General Meeting held on 24th November- apologies this has taken a while to publish be there have been a number of events behind the scenes. please let me know of any revisions or glaring omissions!

Firstly- the meeting we held was not a formal AGM but rather a chance to look at the clubs position and future direction in light of the changes to the committee that were outlined.

I have agreed that the new committee will be finalised at a proper club AGM (which we must hold) to take place on the first Tuesday in February (2nd). This will be the point at which appointments are ratified, existing committee members may step down and new appointees can be elected. We will also do a review of the club’s accounts and membership, constitution and finally give you all an update on the progress we are making on the ideas that came out of the November meeting. I will send out an invitation, agenda and a list of committee posts nearer the time but please note the date in your diaries for now.

To give you a flavour of some of this you will have seen big changes to our website- its now a lot more user friendly and informative. We’re also launching an online kit shop in the New Year which promises to give us access to a range of Harriers branded gear, including vests for members to order direct- big thanks to Alan Billington for his work on both these areas. A new Club Championship will also be rolled out- details being finalised but Richard Mayne (thanks Richard) has this firmly in progress. We’re also looking at an extra, later training session on a Thursday to complement Malc’s existing training and make it available to more people- Rachel Clark is on the case! Thanks as well to all our informal present “committee” members for your input so far. Exciting times ahead I hope you agree!

Finally- I’d like to wish all our members old and new a really good Christmas and New Year- get plenty of races and training in to combat the mince pies!
Cheers
Rob
