Last weekend, 6 of us headed to Totley (just between Baslow / Sheffield) and ran the Tigger Tor Fell Race. It’s a relatively hard fell race by local “short race” standards – mainly as it’s run in the depths of winter – indeed there was a light dusting of snow on the tops (around 400m up). The important thing for this day trip for Belper Harriers fell runners is that 3 of us were complete newcomers to Belper Harriers AND to local fell racing.
Below, you’ll see just how easy it is to join a club, buy a vest and hook up with a group of like minded people to share great experiences with. Be warned – there’s 3 longish write ups below, so set aside 15mins one evening, but please do read them. They really capture how much fun can be had with the club if you’re a new member.
I’m not suggesting anyone reads this, but I did my usual blog update – this comes from a different angle – the route, course and how I felt compared to my norm. I do these regularly, so it’s not really what we want to capture in this post – hence I would urge you first to read the write ups below from Matt, Su and Claire.
