Last weekend, 4 of our members in two paired teams took place in this 2 day event around Martindale near Ullswater in the Lake District. Ed James and Helen Brunt tackled the easier “Harter Fell” course whilst Nathan and Alan tackled the harder “Bowfell” course. The name reflects difficulty – not the actual fells that you run over!
Courses range from easy to very hard and involve pairs navigating their way across hills carrying all camping gear and food for two days to the midway camp and then back to the finish. Fastest times win.
POST SCRIPT : After the event we bumped into fellow Belper Harrier Dave Chaffey who’d only gone and come second on his super tough “solo” Pillar course. Well done Dave! If you do a write up, let me know, we will pop it on here!
