This month has seen an important milestone in the club champs with many runners now having 6 races counting towards their totals. This means that these runners can only improve their standings by scoring more points in a race than their current lowest counting score. Runners who haven’t run 6 races yet can shoot up the table just by running another race!
The women’s standings remain unchanged with Ruth Keeley still at the top. Helen Brunt and Rosemary Arris-Pratt are in 2nd and 3rd places, although Rosemary has only run 5 races.
The men’s championship has seen more changes after the Hairy Helmet relays and Carsington BDL race. Ed James is clear in 1st place. Rob Norman has moved up to second, with Andy Nash only 3 points behind in 3rd. All three have completed 6 races. Within striking distance, and only having completed 5 races, are Kris Mahadevan, Simon Edwards, David Horton and Chris Jordan.
There are plenty of races left to enter. This week sees the Crich Monument race (race full) and in August there is the Rugby Rover and the Ilkeston Double or Quit race. All of these races count on the off road category. There are still the cross country races as well this year.
We are now up to 72 runners who’ve entered at least one race in the championships. Well done everyone!
