Another busy Harriers weekend captured here in pictures. Yesterday about 10 of us from the club headed to Curbar to run the 9.7mile Curbar Commotion. Stunning views and lovely running meant that we were all on a high after. Kath and Danielle completed their longest fell race to date, Ruth finished 4th Lady and Andy Case ran his first fell race in his new Harriers vest – two weekends on the trot now racing for us Andy – good work!
Today saw most entering the Derby Half Marathon. Lots of runners out. Most notably were Sharon getting a big PB, Kelly now completing 26 miles this week with today’s HM, Anne completing three HMs in 6 wks and Chris J finally beating his HM PB time now just outside 1:23. Well done all. Here’s a summary from our ladies captain – Rachel Clark ;
“Great day out for the harriers at Derby City Half Marathon yesterday. Nice course with a killer hill at the end ! No crowds, but that was actually quite nice, we were able to enjoy the perfect running conditions! Huge congratulations to Chris Jordan who won his age category , closely followed by David Horton, who was 5th in the V40 and Dan Clark who still managed 67th in V40 despite limping the last 10 miles. Helena Houghton was 7th in V35, whilst I managed 6th in V45. Sharon Kelby got a fantastic 7 minute PB, Kelly Wigley finished her first virtual marathon , her highest weekly mileage and Queen of the Half Marathon,Anne Downes, loved it so much, she’s running a marathon next year, in Gods own county of course! Well done everyone!”
Further afield Trev and Andy Naylor completed the Yorkshire Marathon in what looked like perfect conditions. Here’s Andy whilst he was still smiling…! And finally closer to home here we can see Andy and Zach checking out our very own localclassic route the Rugby Rover. Smiles all round!
