Club Champs – All change at the top!

After the last two races in the Club Champs, it’s all change at the top of the men’s leaderboard.

Malcolm Weir has shot to the top of the leaderboard after competing in the Wilne 10k and the first BDL cross country of the season. Not only has Wilne enabled him to complete the champs running criteria, but he’s now completed 6 races to put him on a level footing with the other leading contenders. And after being a close run thing for the majority of the year, it now looks a done deal with Malc leading by a whopping 55 points! It’s still tight for the runners up places though, with the next three runners separated by only 5 points. Krish Mahadevan, Simon Edwards and Ed James are the men battling it out.

In the ladies’ championship, Helen Morley continues to lead Ruth Keeley by 6 points, with Rosemary Arris-Pratt in third.

There are only three races left in this year’s champs: the next club handicap on 1st November, the second BDL cross country on 13th November, and the Heanor 10k on 20th November.

There  won’t be any more leaderboard updates on the website to keep the results a surprise for the presentation.

I've been running on and off since my thirties. I did the London Marathon in 2002 and swore I'd never do another one but started again in 2013 and went sub-four at Chesterfield in September 2014.
