Park Runs

Park runs are a relatively new phenomenon to arrive, but boy have they taken off!

Every Saturday at 9am, people run these free, timed 5k routes through parkland all over the UK (and the world). They really are one of the best things to happen to running in England.

From juniors to race winners, all you need to do is join their website, print off your barcode, take it along for 9am and enjoy. Within minutes you get online results which are very very comprehensive.

It’s not uncommon on parkruns to see kids, dogs and people with pushchairs, so there really is no excuse not to turn up!

Markeaton ParkRun (was Darley Parkrun)

This is our local parkrun and is regularly attended by many Belper Harriers. Have a look at their very own website – it’s very informative. It starts and finishes by the Craft Centre / Orangery. If you fancy heading down, but are unsure as it’s your first event – drop a note on Facebook – someone will no doubt be going, so you can lift share and they can show you what’s what.
